Van driver dies in Brighton road sign crash

A driver died when he crashed his van into a road sign on a street in Brighton.

The man, believed to be in his 60s, died at the scene of the crash in Bear Road at 13:25 BST.

The large blue van was travelling downhill near the junction with Newmarket Terrace when it hit the sign.

The road remained closed while officers investigated the crash. Police have appealed for witnesses.
