Seaford man shot by Sussex Police facing charges

A 62-year-old man who was shot in Seaford by Sussex Police has been charged with attempted murder.

Retired Paul Allwright, of North Way, has also been charged with possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life after an incident on 16 September.

Sussex Police said Mr Allwright was arrested after his release from hospital, having been injured by police during the incident.

He is due to appear before Brighton magistrates on Friday.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating Sussex Police's use of firearms during the incident which happened in North Way.
