Sussex hospital wards closed due to norovirus

Three wards at Eastbourne District General Hospital in East Sussex are closed to new admissions due to the winter vomiting bug norovirus.

One ward at the Conquest Hospital in Hastings has also been shut, while one at the Royal Sussex has been closed since Saturday due to the illness.

An Eastbourne hospital spokesman said one ward - the Polegate ward - had reopened on Wednesday.

Norovirus symptoms include nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
