Pedestrian hit by car on A24 in Sussex dies at scene

A pedestrian died when he was hit by a car on the A24 in Sussex.

The 47-year-old man, from Henfield, died at the scene of the crash, which happened at 14:30 BST just north of Ashington on the southbound carriageway.

The driver of the Peugeot 307, who was from Worthing, was treated for shock, but was unhurt.

Sussex Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident to contact them.
