Plans for the redevelopment of a West Sussex town's seafront have gone on public display.

The proposed development of Bognor seafront includes shops, restaurants, a hotel and apartments.

A boardwalk and public gardens, and a purpose-built theatre will be part of the new Regis Centre, the developers said.

Thomas Elliot, the leader of the consortium, said private investment was now in place to fund the work.

He said: "There have been a number of proposed plans over the past 30 years involving public money and joint projects, but we now have private investment in place that will allow a long overdue regeneration of Bognor Regis."

The plans are on public display until 16:00 GMT.
