Retired Eastbourne priest faces child sex charges

A retired Church of England priest has been summonsed to appear in court over eight alleged child sex offences.

Robert Coles, 74, from Eastbourne, in East Sussex, is accused of indecent assault against boys aged between 11 and 15 during the 1970s.

The attacks are alleged to have taken place in Portslade, East Sussex, and in Hampshire.

Mr Coles is due to appear before Brighton Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
