Factory worker charged over MP Facebook message

A factory worker has been charged over claims he made threats against a Sussex MP on social media.

Mark Sands, 50, from Eastbourne, is accused of sending an "offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing message" on Facebook.

Sussex Police said the alleged message was against Eastbourne and Willingdon's Conservative MP Caroline Ansell.

Mr Sands, of Upperton Gardens, is due to appear before magistrates in Hastings on 15 March.
