A man has been jailed for sexually assaulting a teenage boy in the 1970s.

Barry Millard, 68, of Keymer Road, Crawley, had denied two counts of indecent assaults on a boy aged between 13 and 15 in the town between 1977 and 1979.

A jury at Lewes Crown Court found him guilty on both counts.

Millard was sentenced to three years, with a second jail term of 12 months to run concurrently.

The assaults took place at the then Crawley Boys Club in London Road and at an address in Lavington Close, Ifield.

Sussex Police have said the club closed many years ago and the offences have no connection with the current club or anyone working there.
