A driver escaped with minor injuries after his car ended up inside a house on Teesside.

The 79-year-old man was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, after the crash early on Thursday.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said no one was in the house, in Levington Mews, Kirklevington, at the time as it is currently being advertised to rent.

No one else was in the car and no other vehicles were involved.
