Cyclist's phone stolen by armed robber on Teesside

A 21-year-old man was threatened with a knife and had his mobile phone stolen as he cycled past a church on Teesside.

The victim was riding near St Gabriel's, Allenden Road, Ormesby, on Tuesday evening when he was confronted.

Police said he was threatened with a knife and handed over his phone.

The robber, who was wearing a black, hooded jacket, then ran off towards St Gabriel's School. Police are appealing for witnesses.
