Plans have been unveiled for a multimillion-pound homes and hotel project on Teesside.

Wynyard Golf Club, near Hartlepool, wants to build a 50-bed hotel and 50 homes close to its existing site.

The plans include a spa, sports courts and restaurant as well as improvements to the existing golf course.

A spokesman for the Jomast Group, which owns the golf course, said details of the proposals would be put out for public consultation later this month.

Stuart Monk, managing director of the group, added: "The proposals are about creating new superb leisure facilities, enhancing the championship golf course and adding some new and very exclusive residences."
