Firefighters on Teesside have move to a converted warehouse while their station undergoes a revamp.
They will be stationed at Kirkleatham Business Park for the next nine months while the work is carried out at their base in Trunk Road, Redcar.
Helen Williams, spokeswoman for Cleveland Fire Brigade, said the warehouse was fully equipped and there was no risk to the public.
The temporary base also has a weight bench and volleyball court.
Bob McPherson, watch manager, said: "The move has been fantastic and the facilities are just the same.
"Our appliances are ready to go - we have shower facilities - and we are meeting all our targets.
"We even have a volleyball court to keep the troops fit."
The firefighters' permanent base is being upgraded to a community facility where children will be able to learn about fire safety.
Ms Williams said: "A lot of work has gone into finding this location - our priority was that during this process the people of Redcar were kept safe.
"There was a lot of preparation relocating the engines and making sure the accommodation was safe and comfortable for the crews."
