The Princess Royal opened a £17m university building during her visit to Teesside.

Princess Anne spoke to staff and students at Teesside University's Centuria South building, which includes a hydrotherapy pool and dental suite.

She also visited Middlesbrough Rugby Football Club to find out about the FairPlay programme.

It is a rugby-based programme to help young people excluded from mainstream education.

The scheme aims to help the young people back into education, training or jobs as well as building their self-esteem and confidence.

Princess Anne opened the university building in her role as patron of the College of Occupational Therapists.
