Six arrests in metal theft crackdown in Stockton


Six men have been arrested in raids during a crackdown on metal thefts.

Police said a 24-year-old man had been charged with two counts of stealing roof lead flashing following the raids in the Stockton area on Monday.

Three other men, aged 19, 40 and 44, were also arrested on suspicion of theft and bailed.

A 51-year-old arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods has been bailed and another man, aged 35, has been released without charge.

Cleveland Police said they had also seized metal from various properties which they believe to be stolen.
