Redcar beach body death 'not suspicious'

The death of a woman whose body was found on a Redcar beach was not suspicious, police have said.

A passer-by made the discovery behind the Stray cafe on Friday afternoon.

She has now been formally identified as a 65-year-old Middlesbrough woman. No further details about her identity have been released.

A post-mortem examination has taken place and police said they were satisfied there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
