The new building would provide "significant savings in operating costs," the force said
People living near the site of a proposed new headquarters for Cleveland Police will have the chance to find out more.
The plan is to relocate the force's base from Ladgate Lane, Middlesbrough, to a new building at Hemlington Grange.
Ladgate Lane has been used for about 30 years but is now said to be not suitable for modern requirements.
Cleveland Police Authority is holding a consultation event on Monday at the Hemlington Initiative Centre.
The proposals include seeking planning permission for housing for part of the Ladgate Lane site to help fund the new building.
The HQ would cover about 5,000sq m and the authority said it would be designed to meet its needs with better working conditions for staff.
