Chris Rea Road to Hell lyrics fail to sell at auction

A piece of paper on which Chris Rea wrote the lyrics to hit song The Road to Hell failed to sell at auction.
It did not reach its reserve price at Bonhams in London and now a decision is to be made whether to return it to its owner or sell it in a later auction.
The Middlesbrough-born singer donated the piece of paper to help raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
He wrote the note while in a car at the M4-M25 intersection, on the outskirts of London, in 1988.
The lyrics are scribbled alongside details of an Indian takeaway, and a note to "phone Brenda".
