Newsagent threatened with knife in Middlesbrough

A newsagent was robbed at knife point at a store in Middlesbrough.

A man entered the Devine News newsagents in Clynes Road in Grangetown on Tuesday evening.

The member of staff was in the rear of the premises when the man climbed over the counter to the cash till which he attempted to force open.

He threatened her with a knife and made off with a quantity of cash along Clynes Road. Police have appealed for witnesses.

The suspect is described as white, approximately 5ft 11in tall, and of slim build. He was wearing a beige jacket, dark bottoms and gloves.

He is believed to be in his early 20's and has a local accent.
