Litter fines in Redcar and Cleveland rise to £80
- Published
Litter louts on Teesside are to get on-the-spot £80 fines in a new clampdown.
Currently the fine is £50 but from early next year Redcar and Cleveland residents will face a stiffer penalty if caught.
Dog owners who let their pets foul in the street will also be subject to the new £80 fine.
Fixed penalty notices are offered as an alternative to prosecution, but repeat offenders could be taken to court, the council warned.
