No suspicion over Hartlepool footpath death

The death of a man whose body was found on a footpath in Hartlepool early on New Year's Day is not being treated as suspicious, police said.

Cleveland Police said the body of the 51-year-old was discovered near Catcote Road in Hartlepool.

The death was originally being treated as unexplained and a forensic team was called in but a police spokeswoman said it was not suspicious.

No further details about the man have been released.
