Cleveland police crackdown sees 111 arrests

Police have arrested 111 people on Teesside over a week as part of efforts to target known criminals.

Operation Tornado focused on people wanted in connection with crimes ranging from domestic violence to dealing in stolen metal.

The force said the operation was a direct response to community concerns.

Cleveland Police figures suggest crime is at its lowest recorded levels and the force are currently in the top three nationally for public confidence.
