Heroin stash discovered in house in Hartlepool

Police in Hartlepool have recovered suspected heroin with an estimated street value of £12,500.

Cleveland Police said the discovery came as officers visited a house in Bruntoft Avenue on an unrelated matter.

A force spokesman said the quantity recovered was enough to make more than 1,000 deals.

A man and woman, both aged 27, were arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with the intent to supply and are currently in police custody.
