Work on a £2.5m scheme to protect homes in Redcar from flooding is due to start next month.

Northumbrian Water will increase the sewerage capacity in the Kirkleatham Lane area where homes have flooded in the past during heavy rainfall.

Work on the project is due to start on 2 May and is expected to take seven months to complete.

People who will be affected by the work have been invited to an information session on Wednesday.
