Egg-thowing spate targets Bishop Auckland homes

Police in County Durham are appealing for information after a spate of incidents in which eggs were thrown at homes and vehicles.

Since 28 May there have been a number of reports involving eggs and other foodstuffs in Bishop Auckland.

Two women are being sought following the most recent, in Richmond Avenue, early on Monday.

Officers believe a black Ford Ka and a silver-coloured Renault Clio spotted in the vicinity could also be involved.

A Durham Police spokesman said: "Similar incidents have happened on a number of occasions and it appears some residents in particular are being targeted for no apparent reason."

The women are described as aged between 16 and 25, and one was wearing a pink hooded jacket.
