Stockton disturbance: Man arrested

A man was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment after a report of a disturbance in Stockton.

Cleveland Police were called to Yarm Road shortly before 16:00 BST on Friday. A section of the road was closed.

Police said two men were at an address. A 43-year-old left of his own accord at 18:00 BST and the second man remained inside and left at 03:30 BST.

A man, 31, was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment. No one was hurt.

Supt Ciaron Irvine, of Cleveland Police, said: "I would like to reassure residents that this was an isolated incident and thank them for their patience while officers worked to bring the incident to a safe conclusion."
