Teen held over sale of fake tickets in Middlesbrough

A teenager is being held on suspicion of fraud over the sale of fake raffle tickets for a Middlesbrough charity.

The 16-year-old, of Acklam, was detained over the sale for Abbie's Love, set up in memory of Abbie Clarke, 10, who died from epilepsy.

Police were alerted by Abbie's family, from Coulby Newham, who reported someone knocking on doors pretending to sell tickets for the charity.

The boy has since been bailed, and police are continuing to investigate.
