Man killed in South Bank gas substation crash

A teenager was killed when he crashed his car into a gas substation in Middlesbrough.

Cleveland Police named him as Scott McCluskey, 19, who died in the crash in Briggs Avenue, South Bank.

Police arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of being the driver, but he was released without charge after it was established Mr McCluskey was alone in the BMW early on Wednesday.

The gas works was badly damaged and engineers had to make the area safe.
