A Teesside man accused of the murder of his partner has appeared in court for the second time.

Graham Gibson, 47, indicated he would plead not guilty to the murder of 50-year-old Christine Henderson, when he appeared at Teesside Crown Court.

The body of the mother-of-three was found at a house in Cherwell Terrace, Middlesbrough, on Monday. Tests showed she died of stab wounds.

Mr Gibson, of Kent Avenue, Hartlepool, was remanded until 21 September.

The Recorder of Middlesbrough, Judge Peter Fox QC, was told Mr Gibson's defence team would be seeking psychiatric reports.

There was no application for bail.
