Stockton woman's wheelchair stolen after burglary

A disabled woman from Stockton has had her wheelchair and car stolen following a burglary.

Raiders broke into the house in Roseworth early on Wednesday morning.

They stole the family's Citroen DS3 which had the wheelchair in the boot. Documents relating to a holiday were also stolen.

The victim's son, Jamie Baker, said: "We were all supposed to go on holiday today to see my Dad in Spain."

He added: "We are feeling terrible. My mum is very, very bad, she's crying all the time. She's upset and doesn't feel safe."

A house in nearby Thornaby was also targeted at about the same time, where a Hyundai car was taken. Police believe the two incidents are connected.
