Middlesbrough Bus Station is set to reopen after a major overhaul.

It was closed four weeks ago for a £1.5m refurbishment, which included concourse reconstruction and an automatic door system.

A two-day training and commissioning period will begin on Monday to ensure these are operating correctly and the information system is back on line.

The station will then reopen to the public on Wednesday.

When fully operational, the bus station is used by an average of 35,000 passengers every weekday.
