Man rescued after Saltburn bank fall

Fire crews using thermal imaging equipment rescued a man who had fallen down a bank in Saltburn, Teesside.

The man was found late on Monday in undergrowth close to the cliff lift, Cleveland Fire and Rescue said.

He was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough after being pulled from the bank using ropes and a spinal board.

The Cleveland Police helicopter was also used in the search which came to an end just after 23:00 BST.

The force confirmed the man was in a stable condition.
