Man dies after being hit by bus in Middlesbrough

A man has died after being hit by a bus in Middlesbrough.

The man, who has not been named, but was 67 and from the town, was struck by the vehicle in Ladgate Lane at about 11:00 BST on Saturday.

He was taken to the James Cook University Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

No-one else was hurt. Cleveland Police have appealed for help with confirming the identity of the dead man who has a tattoo of a swallow on his left arm.

A spokesperson said he is described to be white and 6ft tall with predominantly grey hair.

The man was wearing a three quarter-length grey jacket with purple lining, blue jeans and black shoes.
