Middlesbrough former library fire: Arson investigation

An arson investigation is under way after a fire at a former library in Middlesbrough.

Cleveland Fire Brigade sent nine fire engines to the old Thorntree Library building on Beresford Crescent shortly after 20:30 BST on Monday.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the blaze, which took nearly two hours to put out.

Cleveland Police's Arson Investigation Unit will now look into the cause of the fire.
