Cyclist dies in collision with parked car in Darlington

A cyclist has died after colliding with a parked car in Darlington.

The man, who has not been named, but is thought be in his late 40s, is believed to have hit the BMW in Carmel Road South at about 08:00 BST on Friday.

A spokesman for Durham Police said he was taken to Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officers are trying to identify the man and trace his family. An appeal for witnesses has been made.
