Police have made a fresh appeal for information about a crash which killed a three-year-old boy.

Danny Wake died after he was struck by a car as he crossed Falmer Road in Darlington while walking home at about 10:35 GMT on Monday, 4 November.

The driver of the car involved did not stop.

Durham Police said officers had examined hundreds of hours of CCTV footage from buildings and buses around the Neasham Road and Falmer Road area.

More than 300 homes have been visited as part of house-to-house enquiries and a number of potential witnesses interviewed.

In February, it was announced a £3,000 reward was being offered by Crimestoppers for the prosecution of the driver.

In the days following the crash a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving before being released without charge.

An inquest into Danny's death has been opened and adjourned.
