Man charged over death of Nathan Smith, 7, in Boosbeck

A man has been charged following the death of a seven-year-old boy in Teesside.

Nathan Smith, from Lingdale, was struck by a van on Boosbeck High Street, near Redcar, Cleveland, on Friday 15 November last year.

A 23 year old has been charged with causing death by careless driving.

He has also been charged with driving without insurance and is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Nathan was hit after getting off a bus with his mother and a sibling.

He was taken to Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital but died later.
