Willington field body-find leads to murder charge

A man has been charged with murder after a body was found in a field in County Durham.

The body of Michael Outhwaite, 42, was found behind Willington High Street, near Crook, at about 01:00 BST on Friday.

Post-mortem tests revealed Mr Outhwaite, originally from the Sunderland area, died from stab wounds.

A 22-year-old man has now been charged with murder and will appear before Peterlee Magistrates' Court on Monday.
