Boy, 14, injured in Easington cliff fall

A teenage boy suffered serious injuries when he fell more than 130ft (40m) from cliffs in County Durham.

The 14-year-old, who has not yet been named, was discovered at the foot of cliffs in Easington, near Peterlee, on Saturday afternoon.

A spokesman for Durham Police said he was airlifted to Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

No-one else was reported hurt and officers have appealed for witnesses.
