A teenage boy is in a stable condition after being hit in the face with a stone hurled through a bus window.

Police said a man in a hood targeted the bus on Sunday night as it travelled through Grangetown, near Eston sports ground on Teesside.

The missile shattered a window and the 15-year-old victim suffered serious facial injuries, officers said.

The man also threw a stone at a passing car, damaging the vehicle. Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

The boy was taken for treatment at James Cook University Hospital.
