Andrew Corfield crash death: Jake McCabe pleads guilty

A teenager has admitted causing the death of a man in a crash on Teesside.

Andrew Corfield, 39, died at the scene of the two-car collision in Hemlington on 28 October.

His 17-year-old daughter Alice Corfield was seriously injured and remains in a critical but stable condition.

Jake McCabe, 18, of Cramlington Close, Hemlington, admitted causing death by dangerous driving and will return to Teesside Crown Court for sentencing on 5 December.

McCabe also pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving, handling stolen goods, and driving while not licensed or insured.

Mr Corfield, a grandfather and father of four, was known locally as a charity fundraiser.
