Two people have been questioned in connection with an armed raid at a jewellers in Middlesbrough.

An "undisclosed amount of watches" were taken from Market Cross Jewellers on Linthorpe Road on Tuesday, said police.

A 19-year-old-man from Manchester was arrested and later bailed on suspicion of robbery.

A woman, 49, also from Manchester, who officers spoke to voluntarily, will return at a later date by appointment, Cleveland Police said.

Detectives have linked the incident to one at the company's Yarm branch in November, over which a Manchester man, aged 24, has been arrested and bailed.
