Two teenagers arrested after Hartlepool attack

Two teenagers have been arrested after a man was found unconscious on a Hartlepool street.

The 24-year-old man was found by a member of the public at the junction of Eskdale Road and Eaglesfield Road at about 00:45 BST on Monday.

He was taken hospital where he is said to be in a critical condition.

Two men, both aged 17, have been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and are currently in custody

Cleveland Police said the man was with friends in the Hour Glass Public House until midnight.

Shortly before he was found, three people were reported to have been seen arguing and officers are appealing for information.
