County Durham biker killed in A66 crash 'experienced' rider

A motorcyclist who died in a collision with a car was an experienced rider, his family have said.

Charles Rayner, 62, from Bishop Middleham died after his BMW bike crashed with a Toyota Hilux towing a trailer on the A66 between Bowes and Brough on Monday morning.

His wife Christine and son Adam said he was an experienced motorcyclist.

The passengers and driver of the car were uninjured. Anyone with information is asked to contact Durham Police.

Mr Rayner worked in North Tyneside as a construction manager for the Keir Group.
