Middlesbrough police pursuit death: Man charged

A man has been charged with causing the death by dangerous driving of a 16-year-old boy.

Brandon Morris was a passenger in a Ford Focus which crashed while being followed by police in Middlesbrough.

Lee Harvey, 29, appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Thursday and was remanded to appear at the crown court at a future date. He is also charged with driving document offences.

Three people also arrested have been released without charge.

The teenager's family said Brandon was a much loved son and brother.

Friends described him as a "good kid" who was trusted, respectful and always happy.

The crash happened at the junction of Park Road North and Park Vale Road on Tuesday.

Cleveland Police said the incident had been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
