Middlesbrough police pursuit death: Lee Harvey jailed

A man has been jailed for causing the death by dangerous driving of a 16-year-old boy in a police pursuit in Middlesbrough.

Brandon Morris was a passenger in a Ford Focus which crashed at the junction of Park Road North and Park Vale Road on 14 March.

Lee Harvey, 29, of Lismore Gardens, Thornaby, pleaded guilty to the charge at Teesside Crown Court on Thursday.

He was sentenced to seven years and eight months.

Harvey was also disqualified from driving for eight years.

Three people arrested in connection with the crash were released without charge.

The incident is being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
