Boys charged after horse attacked in Northumberland

Two teenage boys have been charged after a horse was shot at in Northumberland.

Police were called to fields near Kielder Close, in Newsham, Blyth, on Thursday.

The horse was found and Northumbria Police said it did not appear to have suffered any injuries.

Two youths, both aged 17, were charged with possessing an air weapon. One of the youths was also charged with possession of cannabis.

Two air weapons were seized at the scene.
