Inquiry into fire at derelict workshop in Newcastle

Published
Police and fire chiefs are investigating after a blaze gutted a derelict building in Newcastle.
More than 50 firefighters took almost three hours to bring the fire, at Wincomblee Workshops in White Road, Walker, under control early on Tuesday.
No-one was hurt in the fire, which is thought to have started in the roof void of the 95-year-old building.
A spokesman for Tyne and Wear Fire Service said they would be assisting a Northumbria Police investigation.
