Further arrests after house shooting on South Tyneside

Police investigating the shooting of a man at a house on South Tyneside have made further arrests.

Officers were called to an address in Grasmere Road, Hebburn, on Tuesday, where they found a 27-year-old with bullet wounds.

On Friday four men and a woman were arrested in co-ordinated raids in Gateshead and Newcastle.

A 36-year-old man had already been arrested on suspicion of murder and bailed pending further inquiries.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said three men aged 28, 31 and 52, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in the latest raids.

Another man aged 55 and a 28-year-old woman were being held on suspicion of drugs offences.

The victim was released from hospital after treatment.
