Hebburn man's arm broken for mobile phone


A man suffered a broken arm in what police described as a "malicious" robbery on South Tyneside.

The attack happened on the footbridge near Hedgeley Road in Hebburn, on 14 November but details have only just been released.

A man asked the victim for the time while he was distracted another man struck him on the head from behind, and stole his mobile phone.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
