Police have arrested 350 people for stealing from shops in Newcastle during a Christmas crackdown on theft.
They have also spoken to more than 2,000 people - mainly known shoplifters - to warn them about the ongoing operation.
The campaign started on 5 October and involved extra undercover and uniformed police officers.
Northumbria Police said shoplifting had fallen by 26% compared to the same period last year.
